    We encourage risk taking in art. Risk taking can be as simple as trying a new technique or learning about a new medium to as complex as trying something totally new.

  • Sticky Situation


    Use the follow questions as a guide for your self reflection on the blog. You do not have to answer the questions literally. You may deviate and tell us a story about your journey through this project! We like to read interesting posts too so have fun with this.
    1. Explain how you developed your ideas for "Sticky Situation"

To Do FIRST!!



Blog Portfolio Final

All of this can be done from any computer at school, at home, your phone, etc.!!!!!



To DO if you are not using a chrome book:

1.      ASAP!!! Create a Google email. https://accounts.google.com/SignUp it's free! You cannot do this from a school computer. If you have a smart phone you can use that to create an account.

2.      If you already have a Gmail email address great use it!

3.      Go to http://www.blogger.com/home create a blog.

4.      The blog title needs to have your first name and last initial in it.


On a chrome book :
      1. Login with your new WJ email address
      2.  go to blogger a gray screen will pop up ...
type the beginning of your email address only (no@) and password
 then follow all the rest of the instructions.

Play with the templates; change the colors and layout to your liking!

1.       Send an email to agravlin@west-jefferson.k12.oh.us with:

2.      your blog web address link

3.      your password ( I will keep these on file in case you forget for next year’s final)

4.      Using the post for your class answer questions about your artwork.

5.      Take pictures of your artworks that will be added to the blog using the camera on the computer, save them to your pictures. You may use your phone or regular camera but you will need to get them to yourself at school and save them to your account.

Art 1 & 2

Art 1 & 2

Your art exam will consist of you creating a blog featuring 4 of your artworks from this semesters work. You will select 4 artworks from all the projects and sketchbook work that best represents these 4 questions.

1. What was your favorite project and why? Begin with the process you went through. Was it a challenge? Did you use skills you have never used before? What skills did you incorporate in to this artwork? How did you feel when it was complete? Was it a success or failure?

2. What project helped you grow and improve or test your skills as an artist? What were these skills? did you even know what the skill was before you created the artwork? How did you work on these skills? Did you get the results you wanted?

3. What was your best project? Why do you think it is your best? What did you enjoy the most about it?

4. What project do you feel most reflects you as an artist and Why? Is it personal? What is the artwork about? What does it express about you?

You are going to add a picture of the work of art and answer each question as it relates to the work you added. Extended answers and full sentences are a must.
Since this is all online you can complete most of this from home.

Art 3 & 4

Your art exam will consist of you creating a blog featuring your artworks from this semesters work. 

These posts will be a little different that art 1 and 2.
Begin by taking pictures as you work.  Each step  of your work can be documented by taking pictures of your sketch ideas, first outlines, and each big step you take there after.  Plus the final piece.  You will blog about your thoughts and processes, challenges and success. 
 The questions below will help with ways for you to explain your work, thoughts, and feelings.
 


What were some of your solutions to the project?
Which solution did you chose and why?
How did you show contrast in your work?
What medium did you decide to use? Why did you choose this medium over the others?
What techniques did you use to create this work?
Did you take any risks with this project?
What message are you conveying? How are you conveying this message through the use of your images or use of art elements or principles?
What is  the artwork about?
What did you learn?

Why did you choose the subject matter?

What did you learn about the process of creating this work?

Did you challenge yourself or feel challenged creating it?

Did your work turn out the way you envisioned?

Part of your ceramics exam will consist of you creating a blog featuring 4 of your artworks from this semesters work. You will select 4 artworks from all the projects that best represents these 4 questions. (Since most of your work has been taken home you will need to take pictures of your work at home, email them to your account at school and save them to your pictures.)

1. What was your favorite project and why? Did you use skills/ techniques you have never used before? What techniques did you incorporate into this artwork? Did you glaze it, How? How did you feel when it was complete? Was it a success?

2. What project helped you grow and improve or test your skills as an artist? What were these skills/ techniques? Did you even know what the skill/ technique was before you created the artwork? Did you get the results you wanted?

3. What project was your biggest challenge and why?  What were some of your solutions to the project? 
Which solution did you chose and why? Why was it a challenge? What would you do differently if you could do it again. How did you feel when it was complete? Was it a success or failure?

4. What project do you feel most reflects you as an artist and Why? Is it personal? What is the artwork about? What does it express about you?

Again, since most of your work has been taken home you will need to take pictures of your work at home, email them to your account at school and save them to your pictures.

You will answer each question using full sentences. (extends answers are a must) Then you will add a picture to the blog of the project that connects to your answers. 
Since this is all online you can complete most of this from home.
